Speakers

• Glenn Ramsey (www.digitalrowing.com): "Porting RowPro to Python"

  • RowPro is a desktop application that connects with an indoor rowing machine. It provides training plans with tracking, a technique guide, and has realtime 3D graphics depicting your boat on a virtual river. An online rowing feature allows users to row with other people around the world.

  • This app is currently written in VB.NET and C++. In order to make the app cross platform we are porting the VB part to Python/Qt. In this talk I will describe the incremental approach we are taking to porting and how each of the components will be replaced with Python components.
  • We are looking to expand the team soon to help with this work.

• Guy Kloss: "The logging module (its easy really)"

Each of these presentations will take about 15 minutes plus discussion.

Please try to come before 6:30pm as there may be difficulty accessing the building after that time.
